The Paladin is a knight who follows the teachings of Zakarum, the Religion of the Light. To ensure the success of future missions, the Church set about training holy warriors, Paladins, to accompany and safeguard their missionaries. These cavaliers of righteousness swept through the lands, expunging the taint of demonic contamination wherever they found it. A battle-ready warrior for whom faith is a shield, the Paladin fights for what she believes to be right. Her steadfastness gives her powers to bestow blessings to her friends and wreak cruel justice on foes. There are those who call the Paladin an overwrought zealot, but others recognize in her the strength and goodness of the Light.


The Path

Light Path Introduction: "Such corruption here. Why must evil hide in such wretched places? You dark mages are all alike, obsessed with power. I shall prove worthy. I shall track the prime evils to the ends of the earth. Corruption, take flight. I'm coming for you."

Paladin Skills

All skills in the left column below may be chosen as soon as a character reaches level two. All skills in the right column below may be chosen only after a Primary skill from the left column has reached level 5.

Combat Art Skills:

Primary:
Concentration_d2f.png Concentration
Decreases the regeneration time of all combat arts. Also grants the ability to maintain up to two buffs simultaneously (three when mastered).
Sublime_combat_focus.png Sublime Combat Focus
Improves regeneration time and enables the use of modifications for the aspect Sublime Combat. Increases the maximum spell level without penalty.
Devout_offense_focus.png Devout Offense Focus
Improves regeneration time and enables the use of modifications for the aspect Devout Offense. Increases the maximum spell level without penalty.
Blessed_defense_focus.png Blessed Defense Focus
Improves regeneration time and enables the use of modifications for the aspect Blessed Defense. Increases the maximum spell level without penalty.
Secondary:
Combat-disciple_d2f.png Combat Discipline
Up to three combat arts can be combined and the combat arts in combos regenerate faster. Increases the damage of all combat arts.
Devout_offense_lore.png Devout Offense Lore
Increases damage, critical hit chance and execution speed of the aspect Devout Offense. Enables the use of modifications for this aspect.
Blessed_defense_lore.png Blessed Defense Lore
Increases damage, critical hit chance and execution speed of the aspect Blessed Defense. Enables the use of modifications for this aspect.
Ancient_magic_d2f.png Ancient Magic
Increases damage of spell-based combat arts and reduces the opponent's spell resistance. Additionally, opponents' armor resistances against damage from spell-based combat arts will be reduced.

Offensive Skills:

Primary:
swordweapons.gif Sword Weapons
Improves wielding sword weapons by increasing attack rating and attack speed. Grants the ability to use higher-level weapons without an attack speed penalty.
haftedweapons.gif Hafted Weapons
Improves wielding hafted weapons by increasing attack rating and attack speed. Grants the ability to use higher-level weapons without an attack speed penalty.
tacticslore.gif Tactics Lore
Increases damage dealt by equipped weapons as well as the chance for critical hits. Enables the use of modifications for weapon-based combat arts.
Dual_wield_d2f.gif Dual wield
Grants the ability to wield two one-handed (non-ranged) weapons. Both the chance to hit with each weapon and the attack speed are increased. This skill will replace similar effects from other weapon skills. It will also be easier to use higher level offhand weapons.
damagelore.gif Damage Lore
Increases the chance to trigger secondary effects (burn, freeze, weaken, poison) of the respective damage types.
Secondary:
rangedweapons.gif Ranged Weapons
Improves wielding ranged weapons by increasing attack rating and attack speed. Grants the ability to use higher-level weapons without an attack speed penalty.
polearms.gif Pole Arms
Improves wielding pole arms by increasing attack rating and attack speed. Grants the ability to use higher-level weapons without an attack speed penalty.
magicstaffs.gif Magic Staffs
Improves wielding magic staves and wands by increasing attack rating and attack speed. Grants the ability to use higher-level staves and wands without an attack speed penalty. Unlocks the ability to shoot magical projectiles from staves and wands.
speedlore.gif Speed Lore
Increases run speed as well as attack and defense rating with all weapons.

Defensive Skills:

Primary:
shieldlore.gif Shield Lore
Increases defense rating when a shield is equipped. Grants the ability to use higher-level shields without an attack speed penalty.
armorlore.gif Armor Lore
Increases all existing armor resistances and reduces the regeneration penalty from heavy armor equipment. Also grants the ability to wear higher-level armor without a movement speed penalty.
wardingenergy.gif Energy Shield Lore
Increases maximum shield energy. Energy Shields also block more damage. Unlocks the use of special charms.
constitution.gif Constitution
Increases maximum hitpoints and hitpoint regeneration rate out of combat.
Secondary:
spellresistance.gif Spell Resist Lore
Increases spell resistance as well as the chance to evade critical spell hits.
toughness.gif Toughness
Adds a base resistance for each type of damage and reduces incoming damage.
combatreflexes.gif Combat Reflexes
Increases the chance to evade hostile weapon attacks and reduces the chance to sustain critical hits.

General skills:

Primary:
riding.gif Riding
Grants the ability to ride higher level horses and reduces the regeneration penalty while mounted. Improves the power of all horse combat arts and unlocks special modifiers of horses.
enhancedperception.gif Magic Find
Increases the chance to find more and higher quality items from monsters, chests, and magical hiding places. Unlocks special modifiers that require this skill.
divinedevotion.gif Divine Devotion
Enhances the power and decreases the regeneration time of the Divine Gift.
Secondary:
blacksmith.gif Blacksmith
Grants the ability to work on items without visiting a Blacksmith. Additionally, items above character level can be used. Rings can be forged into items with bronze or better slots, amulets can be forged into items with silver or better slots. Allows the use of exclusive enhancements.
alchemy.gif Alchemy
Enhances the effect/duration of all potions. Also unlocks the use of special alchemy charms.
bargaining.gif Trading
Displays item prices even when not at a merchant. Additionally merchants will offer more favorable prices and better items.

Paladin Unique Mount

Saber-toothed Tiger

The Paladin may look angelic, but their mounts have nothing angelic about them. Their large fangs not only look dangerous, but are indeed deadly weapons.
