This Combat Art is a (Buff) With this aura the Paladin basks herself and all she deems faithful in a warm, healing light. Her prayers for salvation carry her through the direst situations, allowing her to heal even the deepest wounds in time. It is in these times of silent worship that the Paladin is rejuvenated in spirit. Aspect - Blessed Defense Innate Abilities (Lvl 1) Hitpoint Regeneration: 10 hp/s + 20 per level Combat Art Regeneration Bonus: -10% + 1% per level Instant Heal When Casting Prayer: 10 hp + 20 per level Allies Benefit: 50% Regeneration Time of all Combat Arts: +5.0% Modifications See also: Sacred 2:Combat Art Modifications Bronze Flow - Increases the hitpoint regeneration rate by 5 hp/s + 10 per level. Cleansing - Reduces the impact and duration of incoming detrimental effects by 30% + 0.3% per level. Silver Essence - Boosts the Paladin's base hitpoints by 10 + 10 per level. Perseverance - Boosts the Paladin's base Willpower attribute by 35 + 30 per level. Gold Insight - Boosts the Paladin's base Intelligence attribute by 35 + 30 per level. Meditation - Boosts the Paladin's combat art regeneration times even more by 10% + 1% per level.

Skills and Attributes

The following skills will affect this combat art:

• Blessed Defense Lore - improves the hitpoint regeneration effect, improves the max hitpoint bonus from the Essence mod, improves casting speed, allows for modification points.

• Blessed Defense Focus - reduces regeneration time penalty and allows for higher level combat art without penalty, allows for modification points.

• Concentration - directly improves regeneration time penalty.

The following attributes will affect this combat art:

• Stamina will lower regeneration time penalty.

Usage Strategies

• Prayer has a regeneration time bonus that completely offsets its regeneration penalty. So long as the Paladin takes Blessed Defense Focus and/or doesn't read too many runes, the bonus will always be much greater than the penalty, meaning the Paladin will enjoy better (lower) regeneration times for all combat arts when Prayer is active.

• Willpower boost from Perseverance mod will boost lightsaber damage in addition to spell resistance. It also has a good synergy with Holy Shield as the Willpower will boost the shield's energy points.

• Intelligence boost from Insight mod will boost magic staff damage in addition to spell intensity.

• Prayer can affect allies. Read the Note About Party Buffs to learn how to avoid a glitch in the base game where buff effects stack infinitely upward.

Pros and Cons

Pros

• Big increase in survivability from hitpoints and hitpoint regeneration
• Extremely low regeneration penalty actually means Paladin gets a boost to combat art regeneration

Cons

• During multiplayer, Paladin must turn off buff before teleporting to party members or reassembling the party, and recast it afterward (to avoid glitching party stats).
