RAD Community.Org We are privileged to have the first English translation from German of RAD's Preview for Sacred 3. Originally written by Birne with a translation by Dark from the German Sacred and Deep Silver Forums, and published on DarkMatters Enjoy the read! "GamesCom. Thursday, 6pm local time. In a few moments, we will be some of the first to see Sacred 3 in action. The long awaited, desired (and, in some cases, thought dead) sequel to the Sacred series of video games. There's no business like ... video games business As arranged with Kerstin Brüggemeier (DeepSilver's German "Online Communication", and thus, more or less, our CM), we arrived punctual at the DeepSilver booth in the business area. In stark contrast to the general bigger-louder-more-colorful booths in the entertainment area, booths in the business area are all white, silent, closed doors. This is where business is made. Inside, a lounge was waiting for us. At noon, delicious sandwiches were waiting for hungry businessmen, and cold drinks are available all day long. A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, compared to the stressful and crowdy rest of the convention. But we are not here to rest, we are here to get information..." Read more here

Creative Producer Alex Toplansky was on hand, yet again, to run us through the newest entry to the franchise. He explained that the first issue they had was as a result of the success of the predecessor, “Players poured so many hours into Sacred 2 that they literally ran out of things to do, so when we started looking at Sacred 3 we wanted to find something that resonated, and that thing seemed to be multiplayer.” With the new game offering the chance for up to four players to fight alongside each other in a drop in, drop out capacity then that seems to be the big focus with AI stepping into your partners shoes so you are never fighting alone. “Sacred 3 is built around an outstanding, exemplary, co-op experience which is something we’ve worked really hard to perfect,” Toplansky states. “By allowing players to create their own experience with friends, we can really reward them for playing together.” Read more here
Gamers Hub "Usually in isometric games the camera is fixed in it's isometry, however with Sacred 3 they want to be able to use the environment to tell a story, and so at key points an "active camera" – as it's been dubbed – swoops in to show scale and scope. Also in an effort to bring more immersive gameplay, the world itself can also be used as a weapon, with many environmental traps and triggers that can be utilised against your foes – who also have multiple damage zones, meaning you've got to go in tactically against enemies instead of wading in willy-nilly." Gamershell.com "Also, Sacred 3, the follow-up to Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, will also be debuted for the first time in live multiplayer gameplay walkthroughs by Senior Creative Producer Isaac Parakhen. Additionally, the recently announced side-scrolling arcade brawler spinoff to the Sacred series, Sacred Citadel, will be playable in hands-on demonstration areas." Read more here

"It has a few obvious influences, but more than anything else, Sacred 3 is like Warhammer: 40,000. On one side of things, you have deadly serious heroes with a strong sense of culture who are devoted to doing what's right. The Safiri, for instance, harness the sun to power their warrior merchants. Meanwhile, the oppressed Ancarians are a group of guerilla troops who use nasty tactics to keep themselves safe. Sacred 3's enemies, however, are ridiculous, goofy green-skins with a hunger for violence and armor made from slapped-together garbage." read more here

Sacred 2 - one of the largest game worlds ever created. Finding your way around the world of Ancaria can be quite a challenge. Schot's interactive Google API map is meant to help players pinpoint their location in the world and find all the goodies that Ascaron has prepared for Sacred 2 fans in this beautiful game.
After the tremendous nerf to +All Skills and Deathblow, the challenge, after the release of Ice and Blood, was to create a purely magical build with no weapon lores or weapon combat arts that would be able to hammer down guardians while weathering their devastating assaults.
We've now started to work on Sacred 3. The first priority is to collect ideas for the game concept and to decide in which direction the new Sacred should go. Why do we tell you this? Because we'd like to listen to your ideas, wishes and suggestions! You, as long-lasting fans and players of Sacred, are really important to us. For that reason, we'd like to give you a chance to submit your ideas, suggestions and general feedback in the Deep Silver Sacred 3 forum. What expectations do you have for the 3rd saga? The ideas and feedback will be collected from Deep Silver employees. After that, we'll see which of your ideas and suggestions we can take over to the development team. We created this survey on our Sacred 3 forum to do a better analysis. If you'd like to participate, send us your feedback until 30st of November, 2009. Sincerely, The Deep Silver team"
