Detailed Walkthrough
This quest starts with Hunter Kylian in Sloeford. He is just north of the town in a watchtower that overlooks Torreya Brook just before the bridge. As you walk toward the bridge, there will be two paths heading off to your left. There is a fence between them, follow the one north of that fence. It will go around the watchtower to the stairs you need to go up to find Hunter Kylian.
Hunter Kylian will send you out to find the soldiers taken hostage. Follow the yellow outline on this map to get to where you need to be. If you do it right, the camp should look like this:
You will encounter lots of Kobolds as well as a few Boars.
Once you get there, there are 2 things to do, in this order. First off kill 10 Brigands. This is not so hard, since there are more then 10 of em in the vicinity of the cages. Obviously brave men need to be with more then 10 to guard 2 prisoners in cages. Little do they know, not even 100 of them could have stopped you. Either way, after you have slain those 10 Brigands, talk to Commander Erestor in the cage. (the one in the picture above with the (!) mark above his head.
As soon as you talked to him, the hostages become free, and the prisoner gets a (?) mark above his head. Talking to him again will lead you to the next step in this quest. You need to find the cave this group is using as a hideout. It is just southwest of Happy Cow Farm. As soon as you find the cave, this quest ends and the next one begins.

Notes
- Note: Should you for an odd reason not find 10 Brigands, just run around. The brigands killed need not be the ones close to this camp. Any Brigand will add the count. But you should be able to find 10 at the camp anyways.
- Tip: The first part of this quest takes place in the same camp as the quest Muggers, so it can save time and running to do both together.
