Usage Strategies
- Leap Attack is a spell, so it does not use the Barbarian's weapon damage. However it does use weapon attack speed for execution speed, which can be boosted by weapon lore skills. Likewise, the execution speed will be penalized by wielding a weapon with too high a level.
- The Barbarian does not have to target a specific enemy to cast Leap Attack, which allows him to use it for exploration and escape.
- Using the modifier Combat Art Range +X% on gear will not increase the jump distance, however it will increase the range of the damage nova when the Barbarian lands. The radius of the nova can become quite huge.
- The debuffs from Shock and Unaware mods will last for 8 seconds, the duration slowly increasing to 18 seconds at max level. These debuffs will stack each time opponents are hit by Leap Attack, but with diminishing returns, so they will never reduce enemy speed or defense to "0".
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Very useful for exploration and escape.
- Damage can be boosted by 3 skills (Tactics Lore, Ancient Magic, and Combat Discipline).
- Can soften up mobs for follow-up attacks.
Cons
- Low damage limits killing power on its own.
