Detailed Walkthrough
After a long trek north, you finally arrive at the outpost where Commander Winderlich is stationed. Maybe now you'll finally get the answers you've been looking for. Of course, its not that easy as the Commander is in a sour mood when you speak to him, and when you press the issue he gets annoyed and orders his guards to see you out. Defend yourself!

Once the guards are dealt with, you and Winderlich suddenly find yourselves teleported to a cave outside town, surrounded by undead. Talk to their leader, Yusuf, to learn that they are Shadow Warriors like you, and have kidnapped Winderlich to exact their vengeance for his role in the resurrection plot. They want you to have the "honor" of doing the deed, but even in your unholy state, you refuse to commit the murder, opting instead to remain true to the light. Unfortunately, this enrages Yusuf and another undead, High priest Hessus. Kill them both.

When the dust settles, talk to Winderlich. He's in a much better mood, probably because you just saved his life! He finally tells you what you've been wanting to hear: You had willingly gone undercover in the local resurrection cult to discover some nefarious plot. Looks like its time to confront the cult head on, and Winderlich just happens to know where they are.
| ||
Winderlich's directions lead you to a small stone circle outside town, where a lone resurrection priest stands. Talk to him to learn some startling news: Someone has killed all the other resurrection priests and has stolen their data!
| ||
| ||
| ||
The surviving priest points you towards the Human Lands. Just north of Dragonmaw Pass you'll find Ensign Zahar. He's seen the priests and the Orc heading through the area with great speed. He believes they split up. Some staying in Artamark while others headed for Nor Plat. Time to deal with the ones still in the Human Lands.

Notes
In the Shadow version your chat with Yusuf is slightly different, he thinks you are on his side til he notices you laughing. He accuses you of being a 'Border Crosser' and attacks. After defeating him and High Priest Hessus, the outcome with Winderlich is also different. Instead of rescuing him, you allow him to be killed by Brainless Reanimated Creatures.

Yusuf and High Priest Hessus may show up after at least one of Winderlich's guards is killed, but they don't transport you to their cave until both guards fall.
