- Talk to the Racketeer Ringleader.
Detailed Walkthrough
Talk to Telwan the Merchant to learn of the problem with the potions he's been selling.
Head south out of the village, turning left (north) just after the bridge.
Talk to Rina Boombastic to learn that she is being extorted.
Head back into the village, then north. Just north of the village, where a paved path leads left (west) to a house, head east, then north into the clearing Rina Boombastic mentioned.
An alternate route, follow the track across the road from the Teardrop Hamlet portal and monolith past the trees and turn right. Follow your quest arrow a short ways and you will find them.
Kill the five quest-marked Racketeers and talk to the Ringleader when he surrenders. Either decline his offer, or accept it.
Talk to him again; if you declined his offer he will give you Renik’s name because he doesn’t want the Priest getting away with it when he (the Ringleader) hasn’t.
If you accepted his offer he will give you Renik’s name and ask if he can go now.
Either way, you will receive the next quest in the chain, Renik the Priest, automatically.
Logbook Entry
Notes
- Bug: If you accept the Ringleader's offer then you will not receive the quest Renik the Priest, instead the steps of that quest will be included into the first quest Sapless Potions until you receive the final quest, Renik's End
- Tip: Your decisions when accepting and declining in the two conversations during this quest will determine whether you succeed or fail the first quest. If you accept the Ringleader's offer, you must decline to bribe the Gardener. If you decline the Ringleader's offer, you must accept and bribe the Gardener.
- This quest plays differently with the Ice and Blood expansion pack and the Community Patch. The quest is now treated as one quest instead of a chain quest in the log and it is no longer possible to fail the first part. I am not sure whether this was fixed by the expansion pack or the Community Patch.
