Enhanced Perception
Increases Chance to Find Valuables, detect hiding places, traps and stealthed creatures.
- Detection chance +X% (refer to table below)
- Regardless of mastery Chance to find valuables will be increased

Mastery
- Chance to find secret compartments in chests and hiding places.
- Displays the "Chance to Find Valuables" skill bonus (the bonus is given from lvl 1, but not displayed until Mastery).
Properties
- This skill will unlock item attributes that require Enhanced Perception skill (like the similar "Attack Speed (Sword Weapons)).
- This skill gives a bonus to Magic Find at all levels, though pre-Mastery the bonus is not displayed on the skill tooltip (changed, as of Ice&Blood).
- Currently, it does not give a bonus to finding magical hiding places & it is unknown whether this will be implemented.
- In Fallen Angel (without Ice and Blood Expansion), this skill is neccessary to target stealthed enemies such as Garema Ghost Warriors or a Shadow Warrior cloaked with Shadow Veil. Without Enhanced Perception these "hidden" opponents cannot be directly targeted and must be damaged by other means, such as Area of Effect or Reflection spells. This system was removed in Ice and Blood, and cloaked enemies can be attacked the same as any other.
Breakpoints
- The bonuses are increased in steps as shown in the Enhanced Perception full table.
The Detection Chance bonus at a given skill level x is given fairly precisely by the following formulas:
- 80.0*(x+1.5)/(x+21.25) Pre-Mastery
- 85.6*(x-32.9)/(x+19) Mastery
The Magic Find bonus at a given skill level x is given fairly precisely by the following formulas:
- 400*(x+1.5)/(x+100) Pre-Mastery
- 600*(x-32.5)/(x+66) Mastery
The bold marked numbers are the smallest upper bounds of this progression, which will never at any skill level be exceeded.
As an example, the MF bonus at x=75: 75 is the first mastery level, so we take the mastery formula and we have
600*(75-32.5)/(75+66) = 600*42.5/141 = 180.85
This value compared with the table value is a good example of the precision the formulas offer.
