- The appropriate Weapon lore (such as Hafted Weapons when the Barbarian is wielding an axe) - will increase the execution speed.
- Concentration - will lower this combat art's regeneration time.
- Ancient Magic - increases the damage and lowers opponent's resistances to its damage.
- Combat Discipline - will increase its damage and reduce its regeneration time if this Combat Art is placed within a combo.
- Damage Lore - will improve the chance, duration, and strength of open wounds (secondary damage effect) triggered by Stun's physical damage.
The following attributes will affect this combat art:
- Intelligence will increase the damage and spell intensity
- Stamina will lower regeneration time
Usage Strategies
- Stun is a spell, so it does not use the Barbarian's weapon damage. However it does use weapon attack speed for execution speed, which can be boosted by weapon lore skills. Likewise, the execution speed will be penalized by wielding a weapon with too high a level.
- The Barbarian does not have to target a specific enemy to cast Stun. However, he must move into melee range of the target location to use it. He cannot cast it long-range.
- Opponents are stunned for 3 seconds. After being stunned, opponents have a 4.5 second immunity to stun. This prevents stun-lock exploits.
- Range can be increased by Combat Art Range +X% on gear. In addition, the Burst mod alone will triple the radius by max level 200.
- The item modifier "Opponent Level for Deadly Strike" (deathblow) does not normally work on spells, however by taking the gold mod Coldcock this item modifier will apply to Stun, raising the threshold at which double damage is triggered.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- 100% chance to stun.
Cons
- Low damage limits killing power on its own.
