Skills and Attributes
The following skills will affect this combat art:
- Mentalism Lore - improves casting speed, allows for modification points. No effect on the Trance.
- Mentalism Focus - reduces regeneration time and allows for higher level combat art without penalty, allows for modification points.
- Concentration - directly improves regeneration time.
- Combat Discipline - will lower its regeneration time if it is placed in a combo.
The following attributes will affect this combat art:
- Stamina will lower regeneration time.
Usage Strategies
- When engaging bosses cast it on yourself, drink concentration potion and spam Mind Strike with very low regeneration rate (after weakening them with Maelstrom, Dragon strike, Energy Blaze).
- Suggested modifications: Awareness - Experienced - Hardened. This will increase the stun resistance (more important than root resistance, as stun leaves the player helpless), reduces the cooldown allowing to have Combat Trance up more often, and finally increases the resistance to the secondary damage effects, very important in Ice and Blood.
Combo Recommendations
- This CA has a long cooldown and the Dragon Mage doesn't have any other temporary buffs that might be paired with Combat Trance, so this Combat Art is probably best left out of a Combo, unless placed in one by itself to take advantage of the decreased regen time granted by Combat Discipline.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Regeneration reduction allows spamming CAs in rapid succession.
- Protection against stun increases survivability.
- ...
Cons
- Short duration / high cooldown.
