Detailed Walkthrough
Talk to the Special Forces Officer to learn of the Mutated Black Bear blocking their potential retreat.
Kill the mutated Black Bear!
Did I just hear you say you were bored? Then I have a little task for you. Our scouts have spotted a mutated Black Bear in a somewhat remote canyon in the Noriath Corner. He's one strong Bear! Usually a bear like this wouldn't bother us, but this canyon is important in case we have to, unlikely as it is, retreat. Would you kill this Bear for us? You understand that we can't leave here. We are going to be deployed at any moment now.
There are two possible routes to reach the Mutated Black Bear (see map below), but either way you will encounter Mutated Kobolds as well as having to run through pools of T-energy that will inflict a sort of magical poisoning on your character. Fortunately the poison doesn’t cause too much damage, but I wouldn’t advise going for any long breaks with your character standing in a T-energy pool.
The Mutated Black Bear you have to kill has reasonable defence against everything except fire, and deals poison damage, so defence against poison (and magic for the T-energy lying around) and fire-based weapons or attacks are advised. Once the Mutated Black Bear is dead report back to the Special Forces Officer to complete this quest. You can now speak to her again for the next and last quest in the chain.
