You've spent the day in Griffinborough; what a big and wonderful city! You walk near the portal in the east part of the city when one of the city guards stops you to ask some questions. He doesn't know you, so he suspects you have come to the city to participate in some illegal gambling meetings which are being organized lately.

The guard looks quite worried about these illegal meetings, so you think it's a good idea to help by using your spying skills for him. Town Guard Olander tells you these gambling meetings are organized in some tavern in Griffinborough, so you decide to have a look around the town.
Walking through the city heading south-west, you find a nice tavern called the 'Flying Dutchman'. Your character will let you know when you're close.

This could be a nice place to begin gathering some information.

You decide to get in and make some questions. You find inside a man called Goldbeard, who is the tavern owner. He even feels offended when you ask him about gambling affairs; he seems to be proud of keeping this kind of business away from his tavern.

But after talking with him for a couple of minutes you get a name: Stan.

So you have a name now. That's interesting; now you only need to know where he is now. After walking a bit more, still heading south-west, you arrive to another tavern called 'Balderdash' just next to the south-west city gate.

That's Stan's Tavern! Speaking with Stan completes the first part of this quest. To continue speak with Stan again to start the Gotcha! quest.
